How it works
How it works
We collect your confidential waste, usually from a secure console, bag, box or bin.
Your confidential waste is securely transported to EMERGE’s plant, driven by our security vetted driver-collectors
We shred your confidential waste at our plant, within 24 hours, in accordance with the British Standard.
Once your confidential waste is destroyed, a Certificate of Secure Destruction is issued.
Your shredded paper is then baled and sent for recycling. It is reprocessed at a local paper mill, within Greater Manchester, where it is made into hand towels.
Keeping your data secure
All of your sensitive data is protected throughout the data destruction process; from our initial point of contact, when we provide you with sacks, lockable wheelie bins, cabinets or bins in which to keep your confidential material secure prior to our collections, right through to the end point of shredding. Ask us to provide you with a copy of our ISO and British Standard accredited process so that you can see it for yourself.
For GDPR compliance and your peace of mind, all of our friendly driver-collectors wear uniforms, carry photographic ID and are security-vetted and DBS checked to BS7858 standards.
EMERGE Recycling can also provide a secure service to confidentially destroy all data-bearing media, including hard drives, pen drives, backup tapes, CDs, DVDs and VHS/audio tapes. For a full list of IT and electronic devices that we can recycle, please see our WEEE page.
Possessing both ISO 9001:2015 and BS EN 15713 accreditations, we guarantee that all your information is completely destroyed at our secure specialist site, within 1 working day from the point of collection.
