EMERGE Recycling was thrilled to take delivery of a large amount of PPE recently from one of our recycling clients, RODO.
RODO is the UK’s leading trade decorating accessories brand which is based in Tameside. Earlier this year we started working together to help them with their recyclable waste with a source separation recycling system, which we then collect and recycle for them.

It emerged that during the production process, when items of PPE are removed from the production line to check for quality, they are unable to be reintroduced to the production line. This means that they would be sent to waste. We are now in receipt of these items and will ensure they will all be used cutting their carbon footprint down by 50% rather than them going to waste.
Items donated included hi-vis clothing and steel toe capped footwear. Some of the donated items will be used within the EMERGE Collective in EMERGE Recycling, Touch Wood and FareShare Greater Manchester, the rest will be sent out via FareShare Greater Manchester to its Community Food Members (charities and community groups serving their local communities with food) for them to use.
We are incredibly grateful to RODO for sending their surplus PPE our way, we will ensure it gets used to its full potential!
